One day we headed out to Los Lunas to look at model homes so we could find some new ideas for our home remodel. It was a cold day! The only community we could find was an adult only community, whoops. After we looked at two models we got back in the truck to head to the store. The truck wouldn't start!
Hannah, my 12 year old, thought it was exciting to be stranded- for about 5 minutes. My husband tried and tried to get the truck to start.
The children ran around outside for a few minutes. We also discovered that my husband's cell phone was dead.
And the truck still wouldn't start!
Then my teen and husband decided to try pushing the truck to see how far we could coast.
Which went well until we came to a dead end.
Then we had to get out and walk. Luckily, we know a family that lives about a mile and a half from where we broke down. It was cold!
We finally made it to their home and they were there. I was worried that they wouldn't be home and then what would we do? They drove some of us home and helped my husband with the truck. They had to tow our truck to their house and my husband went back the next day to put in a new fuel pump. It was a super cold weekend but they kept him stocked with hot tea and coffee. Thank goodness for friends when you need them!
