Gardens of Santa Fe

Since I'm doing a series on Santa Fe I thought it would be fun to share some of the gardens we found while walking around in Old Town.

The first two photos were taken outside of a little shop.

As we walked out of the main part of Old Town we ended up at the River Park which we walked along for a bit.  It's a quiet spot in the midst of a tourist filled town.

I thought this fish was fun.

I spotted a few wildflowers.  Poppies

And sweet peas

As we headed back to our hotel for a break I spotted a colorful container garden

Pots and gardens are everywhere which makes for a relaxing atmosphere in town.

This is the garden I spied from our hotel balcony.  When we went walking again we made sure to walk through it so I could take pics.

It was quiet in the garden.

Whoever designed it did a good job of balancing plants with artwork.  I'm sure it is interesting in the winter when the flowers have died.

My husband was interested in how the roof was constructed so I took this photo for him.  I like the use of ivy to soften the walls.

This is the plaza which is in the middle of Old Town.  It's more like a park than a garden but I will include it anyway.

We found this courtyard garden while walking around the morning we left.  There was open air seating for a restaurant on one side.

Alpine strawberries

And here is the library.  Wouldn't you love to visit inside.  Yeah, me too!

Thanks for visiting Santa Fe with me.  I can't wait 'till my next visit when I can poke around in more gardens!
