|This alien light pole in Roswell has nothing to do with anything I wrote but it makes me laugh.|
It's amazing how much one can do in a day when the computer is left off until afternoon! We are trying to save $ on our power bill so I left the computer, wireless router, etc. unplugged until we were finished with school. I'm happy to say that I have already accomplished an hour of garden work, wrote in my journal, did my 15 minutes of writing time, read, and did my chores for the day and it is only 3 pm. Now what will I do with all of my extra time? I think I will work in the garden for another hour or so, read, and maybe do a little more house cleaning. The pull of the computer is less strong for me if I have already crossed everything off of my to-do list. It's really just a procrastination tool. Wicked computer!

To decrease our electric bill we are keeping the three window air conditioners turned up higher than they were, unplugging any power eaters when they are not in use and being more efficient with watering so we use the pump less. My husband has been checking the meter and keeping track of our usage. I'll try to keep track of our changes and how it affects our bill so I can give you a report later. Do you have any other power saving tips for me? But, don't you dare mention hanging clothes to dry. I have tried it and cannot stand doing it!
|Oh, maybe I should workout with my extra time? Nah, I'll garden instead.|
Since we are pinching our pennies I have cleared out the homeschool materials we were not using and will probably never use to sell on Amazon. So far I have earned $97.00. I have a few swagbucks gift cards saved up and I'm trying to sell sunflowers from the garden for a few extra school dollars. It would be nice if we didn't have to take any money from the rest of the budget for school this fall. I could cut out some of the things on my want list but I'd rather not. How do you raise extra homeschool dollars?
