We went for a picnic in one of the parks in Albuquerque on my father's birthday.
It's a lovely place with lots of green grass and tall trees.
We sat on a hill above the playground. We found out in the middle of our lunch that we were on the Frisbee golf path.
There's a tall hill to climb which is a nice change of perspective for flatlanders.
My dad's b-day fell in the middle of a very stressful week. I didn't have the energy to bake a cake. He requested a cold watermelon and my mom picked up a single serving cake for him that evening.
Everyone had lots of fun eating watermelon.
My dad is in front in the hat and blue t-shirt.
The park doesn't have facilities besides water fountains so we headed to the mall to cool off and clean up after lunch.
The children(and dads) had fun riding the carousel.
We picked up a few used games for the wii while we were killing time and cooling off.
It was a fun and spontaneous day! It makes me happy to look back on some of our fun adventures especially when I'm having a "blue" day. How do you cheer yourself up when you are feeling down?
