I Will Pay Attention While I Read My Bible

I am reading through the Bible in one year again this year.  I think it is a good way to get to know God's word.  My only problem is that I notice my mind wandering as I read and when I bring my attention back I don't even realize what I have read about for the last page or two.  This is embarrassing to admit and I wish I could receive great insight from each moment I spend reading my Bible.  Alas, I do not!  But, I have hope that I will be able to make my time more productive as I retrain my brain.

To train my brain to pay more attention to what I'm reading I am going to look for an interesting or inspirational verse each day.  To keep myself accountable I will be posting the verses I find on my blog posts.  They may be out of order if I schedule some posts so don't worry about why I seem to be all over the place when I am following a chronological reading plan.  I may or may not include my thoughts on what I have read, so don't expect much from me and my wimpy mind.

Do you have any Bible reading and study tips for me?

2 Chronicles 24:15
"But Jehoiada grew old and was full of days, and he died; he was one hundred and thirty years old when he died."

I hadn't realized that the life span could still be this great at that time.  This definitely caught my attention today.  I can't imagine living for that long on a day like today where my back is full of pain and I have yet to reach my 40th birthday.  It makes me more motivated to take better care of myself!  God's plan for our creation was amazing considering how long some of the old testament peeps lived.
