I got my diastasis rehab splint, DVD, and guidebook from Maternal Fitness on Monday. I’m trying to work up to wearing the splint for 24 hours a day by next Monday. I made it to 4 hours yesterday. I’m at 4 hours and 41 minutes so far for today. I don’t like wearing the thing. It feels like I imagine a corset would feel to wear. It’s hard to breath properly and it makes my back, sides, and tummy muscles hurt. I guess it’s working and I’m a whiner. The tummy exercises are much harder(effective) when I wear the splint.
I will start my first official week on Monday and I hope I have some results by Friday. I will have to give myself many pep talks to keep doing this!
For the weight report I gained over a pound. I ate some liverwurst the last few days and I know it’s making me hold water. I haven’t found a way to make my own liverwurst so I guess I’ll have to stick with homemade chicken liver pate instead. I still have not eaten any almonds, almond butter, or peanut butter even though I really wanted some! I did have 1/4 t of cocoa powder with my berries yesterday. I might have some more today.
Otherwise I’ve been sticking to my eating plan although I’ve eaten snacks two or three days this week. I think I forget to eat enough at my meals and then I’m hungry again too soon. I’m trying to make sure I eat enough fat with lunch but yesterday I forgot my avocado and was starving before dinner. I know my body will get the hang of it soon. Next week I will focus on eating breakfast within 30 minutes of waking which will be difficult as I like to shower and dress before eating.
I only walked two mornings this week. I had a rough week and was trying not to wear myself out. I will take it easy until I get used to wearing this torture device, I mean diastasis splint.
