Alex Armstrong is off on a life changing adventure. He had been a professor and now the 40 year old man is starting a new life in a new place as the pastor of two small country churches.
He is used to living in the city so the country is a new and sometimes shocking experience for him. The two churches are rivals and he tries his best to show them that he cares for both congregations and to find a way to draw them back together as one large church family.
Problems for members of his congregation begin to crop up and he does his best to help them solve their problems. Many of the situations are open ended and will continue in the next book.
I enjoyed getting to know Alex and the members of his new community. It was interesting to see how he helped people with their problems. I feel like I had just really gotten to know all of the characters when the book ended. It was a good introduction to the community and now I want to learn more. I'm interested to see the resolutions to the problems and the mystery raised in the book. I hope the author shows us how Alex handles his first winter in the country.
I feel like I have joined Alex on his journey and appreciate how he looks to God for help with each new situation he is presented with.
I received a free copy of this book and have shared my honest opinion.
