Remember back in October when I wrote about
planting some lettuce inside to harvest during the winter? I still haven't harvested any.
 |
| The soil in these two boxes is too heavy so not much sprouted. |
It's still too small. I also challenged myself to harvest something every day. Didn't happen. I could have taken a little pinch off of one of my herbs each day and counted that but I didn't.
 |
| This looks promising. I could cut a little now if I wanted to. |
I still have some plants growing outside. I'm going to run out there real quick and take an inventory. Be right back.
 |
| Red leaf lettuce. |
I have corn salad, radishes, and red lettuce in the
hay bed. Under fabric there is a little spinach, beets, savoy cabbage, kale, and swiss chard. In the herb garden I have thyme, sage, rosemary, and a bit of parsley. Surprisingly, the rose in my herb bed still has green leaves. I have some pansies that are flowering in spite of the colder weather. I'm going to water them more often so hopefully I will have some flowers to decorate my daughter's birthday cake.
Well, now I'm feeling a little more motivated to brave the cold and tend to my garden. Maybe next week I'll share some pictures from outside. Thanks for visiting!
