Making Flashcards Fun Obstacle Course

I found a way to get my students to do flashcards without complaining!  We put together an obstacle course outside but you could set one up inside.  We made eight stations.

They had to answer five cards before they did each obstacle.  Our obstacles included swinging on a rope swing, taking a toy bunny for a ride in the wheelbarrow, jumping over hurdles, mowing one section of grass, pulling the wagon, and walking on hay bales.

They enjoyed having my undivided attention and praise as they went through each obstacle.

Little brother enjoyed getting wagon rides!

When they finished I had them go through the whole course as quickly as possible for fun.

That was a sneaky way of getting them to burn off some energy before we went inside to do some more schoolwork.  They loved this idea.  I think they will be running an obstacle course at least once a week.
