We had a picnic lunch Friday in the mountains on the way in.
After a quick dinner in our hotel room it was time to hit the pool!
After pool time it was cake time. My hubby's birthday was on Friday.
Each morning we headed to the breakfast room at the hotel and then spent some time letting the kids play outside before it got too hot. We had a patio outside our room and spent a lot of time in the morning and evening chilling out there.
On the fourth my parents took the children on a shopping spree at the dollar store. Then we came "home" for lunch and swimming while the baby napped.
All of the out of town family members stayed at the same hotel so we had fun seeing each other at breakfast and hanging out in the pool each night. We kind of took over the pool every evening. There weren't that many people staying at the hotel because it is the off season in Arizona right now.
The whole group went to dinner together each night. You can see Elijah was ready to head back to the pool!
We left Monday morning. We stopped at the same picnic area for lunch. After we ate we hiked down to the creek to play for a bit.
Then it was back into the truck for the drive home. We missed a turn somewhere along the way and ended up taking a different route home.
We did find a neat place to go back and visit another time while we were making our detour.
It was nice to get away for the weekend.
In honor of our successful vacation I'm taking the rest of the week off of school! Wheeeeeeee!
