NMMI Sping Family Weekend

I promise I won't let NMMI take over my blog.  I just love and miss my "little" boys so much.  Bragging about them and looking at pictures of them makes it easier.

We went to Roswell last month for spring family weekend.  This is also the weekend that they "turn" or become new cadets.  The first event was a breakfast for the parents club(all parents of cadets are in the club).  We ate in the school's dining hall and listened to a few speakers.  One speaker mentioned that this has been one of the best groups of new cadets the school has had.

Then we went out to the parade ground to watch the troops be inspected.  Our boys are in November troop and of course, they were the last troop to be inspected.  Caleb is the tall skinny guy in the front row.

Jacob is the tall young man next to the young lady.

Caleb being inspected.  They have to say things the whole time the inspector is holding their riffle.  Example: "Did you know sir, that so and so is our squad leader?"

November Troop

Jacob's turn.

After that we saw a drill demenstration and then visited their rooms.

We headed back to the parade field to watch the parade.

The marching band marched by.

All of November troop.  Our boys are in there somewhere.

Each troop marched by before they left the field.  This is November troop.  They were last.

All of the troops marched to the barracks where there was an announcement about the RAT's becoming new cadets.

Caleb and Jacob with one of their friends between them.

All of the other troops were dismissed and then they made November push.  I guess it's one of their traditions.

Then they got to put on their shoulder boards(I think that's what they are called).

My hubby put their boards on for them.  They were very happy to finally be new cadets.

Caleb and one of his little brothers walking back to his room to pick up a few things before we took them to lunch.

They get to come on Friday for Spring Break!  Can't wait!
