Show and Tell Friday

To participate go to Kelli's house.

For this weeks show and tell I am sharing a quilt I made. It is the only applique quilt I have ever made and might be the only one I ever make. It took me seven years to finish it. It was made from a pattern and fabric my mom bought for me when my third child was a babe. It always reminds me of his babyhood. I thought the button trees were a cute idea.

And here is the whole thing. The pattern was for four rows of houses but I decided to do just one and add the night sky above. I had fun figuring out what to quilt on it. I just drew different designs freehand and then quilted them. Two of the houses have hearts quilted on them.

I used to have it hanging on a branch which was lost in one of our moves. I need to find another one. I think it would be cute to hang from a welcome sign. Oh, if you noticed the cords hanging out from the bottom that is because I am hiding a wall outlet that is about four feet from the ground in our office.
